Pragmata director regrets announcing it too soon

Capcom’s Pragmata was spearheaded by Yonghee Cho, known for being part of the art department in games like 2020’s Resident Evil 3, Nier: Automata, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. If there was something he could do over, though, it’s probably making the fans aware of the award-winning sci-fi puzzle shooter as early as they did.

Speaking with GamesRadar (via GamingBolt), Cho expressed that he regrets the timing of the trailer, but also that even with all the years that passed, it was encouraging and helped “boost the spirits” of the team that people were eager to see more years since its debut trailer in 2020.

“It was very encouraging to see that, even after so much time had passed from the initial announcement, players were still so interested in the game. That helped boost the spirits of the dev team.”

Cho was also in a weird catch-22 anyway, as he noted that they wouldn’t have Pragmata like we know it if it wasn’t for the early trailers.

Pragmata is Capcom’s latest critical and audience darling following Hugh and his android companion, Diane, as they move through a space station full of hostile machines with your firearms. That said, they’re resistant to bullets, so you have to balance shooting and dodging as Hugh and disabling enemy shields with Diane.
